General Description
CAPA is seeking a highly analytical, motivated and strategic Controller to oversee its corporate accounting, financial reporting, internal controls and financial systems across the globe. Provide day-to-day management of the company’s accounting, reporting, and treasury activities as well as for establishing a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with accepted accounting principles and international reporting standards to assist in making financial decisions about the company's future. Key Responsibilities
 
Management
  • Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the team structure for achieving the department’s goals and objectives
  • Oversee accounting operations, especially control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures
  • Manage outsourced finance and accounting functions
Transactions
  • Oversee monthly and year-end close process, including global financial consolidations
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions, ensuring that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner and that accounts receivable are collected promptly
  • Oversee all disbursements, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchases, employee expense reports, cash control, payroll processing, quarter and year-end closing including federal and state reports
  • Oversee accounts receivable activities to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts
  • Research financial developments in foreign economies that affect the organization; oversee all foreign currency transactions, buy forwards, etc.
  • Manage all global payroll processes and ensure compliance with local laws and regulations
  • Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
  • Maintain the chart of accounts
Reporting
  • Oversee the activities of the accounting department for the accurate and timely completion and dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, monthly financial statements and budgets and annual audits
  • Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
  • Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
  • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
  • Provide financial analyses as needed, specifically for capital investments, pricing decisions and contract negotiations
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of ad hoc reports as needed
  • Communicate with the CFO, CEO and Executive team on financial results, areas of risk, and areas of opportunity; coordinate the preparation of quarterly/semesterly reports for the Executive Team and the Board of Advisors 
Compliance
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Assure corporate income tax compliance to assure the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns taking full advantage of favorable tax codes
  • Ensure global tax compliance
  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all financial systems, processes and data that enhance the company's value

Skills and Experience

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration
  • 6-10 years of progressive, hands-on accounting managerial experience as a Controller or VP of Finance within high growth environments
  • Experience with coordinating year-end audit with external auditors and preparing audited year-end financial statements
  • Knowledge of foreign accounting practices and foreign economies; demonstrated experience with complex foreign exchange management and reporting
  • Proven leadership experience in effectively managing, motivating and developing staff
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Solid understanding of financial systems, including integrations and enhancements
  • Strong leader with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly motivated to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Up to 20% travel, domestic and international as needed

General Description

The Institutional Relations Manager (IRM) is a sales role focused on business development as well as maintaining and growing existing institutional partner relationships within a region designated by CAPA. We are seeking someone based in the Northeast region, ideally in one of the states of: NY, NJ, CT, or MA. If outside of Massachusetts, a remote work arrangement is required.  

The IRM will work with CAPA’s current partners to approve CAPA programs, recruit students to CAPA programs, and to develop custom and partnership programs at our CAPA centers. The IRM will also be responsible for cultivating new institutional partners and helping institutions build a learning abroad strategy for their faculty and students with CAPA.

The ideal candidate will be a target-driven strategic thinker who is highly self-motivated but also able to collaborate and function as a productive team member across departments. This position reports to the Vice President of Institutional Relations and Marketing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consult with U.S. colleges and universities to create partnership and affiliate agreements with CAPA through our semester and short-term summer study abroad and internship programs.
  • Create customized program opportunities with institutions at our Global City center locations, utilizing extensive knowledge and expertise in academics, internships, service-learning, and student services.
  • Support our partner institutions including occasionally attending study abroad fairs and related university events to promote CAPA’s programs and institutional services.
  • Develop, establish, and maintain relationships with study abroad professionals, administrators, and faculty at partner institutions.
  • Attend and present papers and sessions at national and regional conferences.
  • Work in conjunction with multiple departments within CAPA, both domestic and international, to support our current partnerships and to look for opportunities to generate new ones.
  • Assist partners by guiding their program development efforts, supporting recruitment, communicating CAPA updates, handling special requests, and providing creative solutions to complex programming.
  • Travel domestically 25-40% of the year, depending on peak seasons. 

Skills and Experience

Required

  • Proven track record of success in sales arena, consistently exceeding targets

  • High level of competitive drive, self-motivation, enthusiasm, and flexibility
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Comfortable working both independently and in a team environment, within and across departments to meet established target-based performance goals
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in conjunction with a heavy travel schedule (40% during peak seasons)

  • Ability to network with peers and contacts to seek new relationship opportunities
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and comfortable working in a contact management system and other database applications, ideally Salesforce
  • Driver’s license and ability to drive long distances
  • BA/BS required

  • Minimum of 5 years’ working in sales to universities

  • Close proximity to major airport due to travel requirements

Hours

This is a full-time position. Standard work schedule is 37.5 hours per week, 9:00 to 5:30, Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of sales and the study abroad field, additional time beyond regular office hours and work on weekends and holidays is to be expected in this role.

CAPA is seeking an experienced Marketing Content Specialist to create compelling customer and brand relevant content across a variety of digital and print channels. This person will create and edit content, lead an engaged social network, and coach other content creators, including student bloggers for publishing on CAPA’s website, social media, blogs, newsletters, press releases, white papers, infographics, and brochures. A key member of the Sales and Marketing team, the Marketing Content Specialist works closely with the Marketing Coordinator and Director of Marketing on all aspects of CAPA’s marketing campaigns. This Boston-based position reports to the Director of Marketing.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all aspects of CAPA’s content are aligned with overall company growth goals and strategies
  • Manage all aspects of CAPA’s organic and paid social media presence to promote and expand our brand awareness, thought-leadership, lead generation, and cross-selling efforts
  • Create and implement social media content strategies in collaboration with marketing, sales, and program staff
  • Create and manage content for CAPA’s website
  • Create content for print media for student and institutional audiences
  • Manage all aspects of the student blog and video blog, including the student blog application process, coaching, editing, and posting
  • Collaborate and coordinate with staff across the organization on a variety of marketing content, including academic, advising, and enrollment staff
  • Analyze content metrics and KPIs and report out on results using HubSpot, Google Analytics, SEMRush, and social media platforms
  • Continuously use data to understand performance of campaigns and implement new strategies to improve effectiveness
  • Keep up to date on industry trends on social and other digital media, and report out on trends and opportunities
  • Attend occasional customer-facing events, including study abroad fairs and conferences

The Recruitment Advisor is primarily a sales role and is responsible for recruiting students from CAPA’s leads to apply for CAPA programs worldwide. This position will report to the Director of Enrollment and Advising Services.
 
Key Responsibilities
• Recruiting students who have expressed interest in attending a CAPA program by making phone calls and sending email messages in congruence with our communication plan.
• Providing guidance and advice to students on program selection and answering program-specific, country-specific, and other questions, such as those regarding credit transfer, scholarships, and financial aid.
• Managing and creating content for email communications plans based on collaboration with international staff.
• Meeting daily phone call and outreach targets.
• Providing a high level of customer service support to students helping them prepare for their time abroad.
• Maintaining student leads in Salesforce database, and tracking communications through it.
• Other duties assigned.
