How will an internship abroad help me in my future career or grad school?

Interning abroad is an excellent way to prepare for your future career. It exposes you to a variety of experiences that give you an edge as you enter the job market and can help you build the skills employers are increasingly demanding of applicants.

By participating in our Global Internships program you can expect to:

  • Learn how to effectively articulate your learning and newly developed skills to grad schools and hiring managers.
  • Collaborate with and learn from professionals in your host country.
  • Gain experience in your field from a global perspective.
  • Gain exposure to, understanding of, and appreciation for diverse working cultures and practices.
  • Develop intercultural communication skills.
  • Perform meaningful work in a fast-paced, diverse global city.
  • Build relationships with international references.
  • Develop foreign language knowledge (select locations).
  • Earn academic credit.
  • Build your resume.
Does it cost extra to do an internship?

No, interning abroad with CAPA doesn’t cost extra! The cost is built into your study abroad program fee.

Note: In some locations you may be required to obtain a specific visa which does incur a cost not related to our programs.

What are the dates?

The dates are the same as the dates of the program you apply for.

What locations offer internships? Any pre-requisites?

Internships are available in all of our locations. For details on some minor exceptions, chat with a CAPA Admissions Advisor today!

To participate in an internship in Florence and Buenos Aires you are required to have at least 4 semesters of Italian-language and Spanish-language respectively.

Do I have to take a class as part of my internship?

The Global Internship program was designed to prepare you for your future –whether you’re entering the job market or applying to graduate schools. The program is made up of 4 components: internship placements, masterclasses, mentoring, and career preparedness workshops.

During your internship program you’ll be completing reading and writing assignments, building an e-portfolio, developing an “elevator pitch” presentation, completing mock interviews, working on your online professional presence, giving a final presentation, conducting industry field research work, etc.

How do I apply for an internship?

Applying is easy! Just start your application for your location term/year and add the internship placement option in the application. You will need to send in additional documents such as a resume and cover letter along with the standard application documents.
