Borders and mobility are at the heart of the study abroad endeavour. The border is a literal barrier between nations and a metaphorical obstruction that separates us from empathy and engagement with those who are strangers to us. Mobility of body and mind empowers some of us to transcend these borders. That is, however, a partial and selective view of the global realities in which we function. The symposium will explore the paradoxes and problems that reverberate around these critical concepts. March 21st, 2018. 1pm - 5pm at The Sheraton Boston Hotel
