Favorite class abroad: Beginner Italian
I was skeptical of taking it but it was a great experience and I learned more than I ever thought possible. It allowed me to learn basic words and phrases that were absolutely necessary to not only get around Florence but also helped me immerse myself in the culture. The professor was extremely patient, positive, and truly cared about enriching her students experience abroad. The class included several different teaching methods and was so engaging that I was excited to go to class.
Study abroad highlight: Studying Abroad was without a doubt, the best decision I ever made. It truly is a once in a life time opportunity that everyone should take advantage of. Not only do you learn about a new place, culture, and lifestyle, you also learn a lot about yourself. My greatest memories from abroad come from learning from local Italians, meeting other students from the states, travelling to amazing places every weekend, figuring out how to adjust to the customs, indulging in the food, and getting lost. There is something for everyone no matter where you go, whether you are interested in art, history, scenic views, food, or travelling. I would do anything to relive my experience and cannot stress how many wonderful memories I have that I would love to share with prospective students.
