Do I need a visa to go to Australia?

  • All U.S. visitors to Australia need visas to enter the country. You can obtain Tourist or Visitor visas.  The information provided here is intended to be a guide, but visa requirements and fees are subject to change.  Consult the Australian authority for the most up-to-date information:  http://www.immi.gov.au/immigration.htm

  • If you are not a U.S. citizen, please research visa requirements specific to your country of citizenship.

Here are some tips to get you started:

  • First, count the number of days that you plan to be in Australia for your program.  Add the number of days in your program to the number of days you may plan to travel independently before or after the program.
  • Then, read about both visas below to learn which one is necessary for the total length of your stay.
