Dr. Maryélise Lamet
Director of Academic Affairs
Dr. Lamet was the Director of Education Abroad at the W.S Clark International Center of the University of Massachusetts Amherst at the time of her retirement in 2002, having worked in the International Programs Office for 26 years. Prior to joining CAPA in June 2004, she was the Interim Director of Study Abroad at Boston College for two years.
Maryélise has served twice on the NAFSA - SECUSSA National Team, most recently as the Education and Training representative, and was SECUSSA representative for Region XI. She was a member of the CIEE Academic Consortium Board and was one of the Founding Board members of the Forum on Education Abroad. She was Coordinator of the Curriculum Integration Project at Boston College and an evaluator for the FIPSE- funded Curriculum Integration Project of the University of Minnesota.
Maryélise holds a Ph.D. in Early Modern French Social History from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and has published in the fields of history and international education. She is the editor of NAFSA’s Abroad by Design (2000) and co-author of the chapter entitled “Education Abroad in the Campus Context” of the newest edition of NAFSA’s Guide to Education Abroad (2005).
