CAPA, The Centers for Academic Programs Abroad was founded in 1972. For over 35 years we have been partnering with US institutions of higher education to build quality, affordable customized/faculty led programs.
Our mission has remained unchanged since 1972: to provide learning abroad opportunities which genuinely educate students and visiting faculty about the people and culture in which they are learning in a holistic educational environment.
As we embark on our 35th year of excellence in study abroad we are delighted to announce our new name, CAPA International Education and some exciting new opportunities for your students to learn abroad with CAPA.
CAPA International Education is a partnership-based organization. We depend on the thoughtful direction of the CAPA Board of Directors and Academic Advisory Board as well as our partnering institutions and students to ensure our program centers adhere to the latest recommendations for best practices in learning abroad.
Our program centers are located in
London, Florence, Sydney, Paris, Madrid, and Costa Rica.
After decades of achievement with faculty led/customized programs, we have captured the best of our program models in the development of the CAPA Independent Enrolment Programs.
These semester and summer programs are designed for individual students looking for a fully comprehensive, affordable program that challenges them both academically and personally.
Our programs weave experiential and academic learning together with internships, co-curricular activities and methods of instruction; these create a total learning environment, ensuring every student gains the deeper contextual relevance before, during and after their study abroad experience.
CAPA currently have two programs open for independent students in LONDON and FLORENCE. The remaining CAPA Centers will offer independent enrolment programs in 2008 and 2009.
We believe that a student’s intercultural awareness and self-confidence, as well as a genuine interest in their own education can be uniquely shaped while learning abroad. Over 50,000 students are alumni of the CAPA Organization. It is our belief that the experiences and lessons gained by your students on our programs will continue to bring new levels of curiosity and tolerance to the future generations of people they engage with.
It is a profound responsibility, one that we consider carefully every day.
