Gavin Hornbuckle

Gavin Hornbuckle comes to CAPA with thirteen years in the field of international education. After studying abroad in 1994 at the University of Oslo, Norway, he spent three years in Latin America teaching at international schools in Quito, Ecuador and Mexico City. Later he worked as a travel writer for Let’s Go 2000: Central America, covering Honduras and El Salvador.
After returning to the States for graduate school he joined Lexia International, an education abroad provider in Hanover, NH. He later served as Resident Director of Lexia’s programs in Havana, Cuba and Merida, Mexico. In 2007 he joined CAPA as a Program Development Specialist serving NAFSA Regions II and III.
Gavin holds a Bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University and an Ed.M from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education. Currently he is engaged in doctoral studies in Higher Education at the University of Minnesota. He has traveled extensively in Latin America and Europe and speaks Spanish and French. Most recently, his travel destinations have included Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, Stockholm, Sweden and CAPA’s centers in Madrid, Florence, Paris and London.
